Le Riz du Niger is a semi-public company, with the Niger State as a key shareholder (70.39% of capital). Its core activity is the collection and processing of Paddy rice. Today, the company wishes to revitalise its distribution channel to provide its customers with fresh, reasonably-priced rice, ensure regular sale of production and above all, provide a more efficient response to guideline 2 of the 3N Initiative Nigeriens Feed Nigeriens., “Regular supply of agricultural products to urban and rural markets”. The project has a two-pillared approach: establishment of 8 storage warehouses, each with a 500-ton capacity and the reinforcement of the transport fleet with the purchase of 4 trucks (capacity 40-tons) to ensure delivery of finished products to the warehouses in the centre of the country.
- Improvement of rice stock depletion;
- Meet growing demand for rice in Niger, the no.1 food product consumed by Nigerien households;
- Increase the local rice production;
