With an onion production of over 700,000 tons since 2010 and a local consumption of over 60% of total production, the project aims to create a processing and commercialisation plant in Niamey, to transform onions into onion powder and flavoured stock.
- Meet the needs of the national market which is of over 5 million households, and growing fast;
- Export to neighbouring countries, particularly Burkina Faso, Ghana, Benin, Nigeria and Togo, who are already Niger’s key clients for onions in bulk;
- Benefit from the expertise and sales network of Nestlé, who have already signed a 3-year renewable sales agreement with SOTRACO. SA for the products mentioned in the project.
